MARSHAL MHÓR CIRCLE
The Sound Shore St. Patrick’s Day Parade’s Marshal Mhór Circle was founded in 2020 to give our past grand marshals a special way to support the parade’s dual mission of promoting Irish heritage and the American immigrant experience in the Sound Shore Community, and providing college scholarships to local students.
Even though the parade was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic, the Marshal Mhór Circle took the opportunity to establish a new scholarship – our “American Immigrant Experience” Scholarship – to be awarded to deserving local high school students who embody the continuing contributions of all immigrants and their descendants to our community.
Our Marshal Mhór Circle includes all of our esteemed parade leaders since the Sound Shore St. Patrick’s Day Parade was inaugurated in 2012. The primary duty of the grand marshal is to represent the Sound Shore St. Patrick's Day Parade and lead all the parade participants down Mamaroneck Avenue. The Grand Marshal is also instrumental in fundraising so that the group can continue to give back to the Sound Shore Community.
Our impressive list of Grand Marshals includes:
Jim Killoran, Executive Director of the Fuller Center for Housing of Greater NYC
Jim Hynes, Principal, Hynes Capital Resources
Kevin Plunkett, Director of Strategic Initiatives, Simone Development Companies
Robert McCooey, Senior VP at NASDAQ
James Sullivan, President, Pearl Restaurant Group
Valerie O'Keeffe, former Town of Mamaroneck Supervisor
Raymond "Doc" Kiernan, Former New Rochelle Fire Commissioner
Christopher O'Callaghan, Managing Director, Office Division, RM Friedland Commercial Real Estate Services
Kate Bialo, Founder & Executive Director, Furniture Sharehouse, Westchester's Furniture Bank
Joe Durney, CEO of STEER for Student Athletes
We thank our Marshal Mhór Circle for their continuing contributions to the Sound Shore Community!
