Annual Scholarship Awards
The Sound Shore St. Patrick's Day Parade began as a community event in 2012, to promote and celebrate Irish heritage in the Sound Shore community, and to provide a meaningful, honorable, and festive occasion for families and friends. Even more important is the parade organization's commitment to education by raising money for college scholarships. Application letters are sent to local high schools every year, and the Parade Committee is excited to have the opportunity to continue this important tradition. To date, the organizers of Sound Shore St. Patrick's Day Parade have bestowed $30,000 in college scholarships.
