2024 Grand Marshal

Chance Mullen

The Sound Shore St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee proudly announces the 2024 Parade Grand Marshal, Chance Mullen of Pelham, NY. Mr. Mullen will have the honor of leading the annual Sound Shore St. Patrick's Day Parade as its 12th official parade Grand Marshal on Sunday, March 24th, 2024, in Mamaroneck, NY.

Chance Mullen has been the mayor of the Village of Pelham since 2019. Originally from Garden City, Kansas, he's had the opportunity to live all around the country -- Chicago, Nebraska, Minneapolis, Seattle, and New York City -- before landing in Pelham in 2012. In addition to serving as Pelham's mayor, he works in People & Organizational Development at the Ford Foundation, a global philanthropy dedicated to promoting social justice around the world.

He has volunteered for many non-profit organizations, including the Cub Scouts, Pelham Rec Soccer, Little League Baseball, the Picture House Regional Film Center, and Pelham Civics. His wife, Francile, is the Development Director for LMC Media, and their son, Finnegan, is a rising freshman at Pelham Memorial High School.

Chance will be officially introduced as the 2024 Sound Shore St. Patrick's Day Parade Grand Marshal at the annual Golf Outing fundraiser at Westchester Hills CC on September 28th, 2023. He will join a long and illustrious list of past grand marshals, which includes Jim Killoran, Jim Hynes, Kevin Plunkett, Robert McCooey, Jim Sullivan, Valerie O’Keeffe, Raymond “Doc” Kiernan, Chris O’Callaghan, Kate Bialo, Dr. Joe Durney, and Tony O’Callaghan -- all notable Sound Shore citizens who graciously contribute to the welfare of our citizenry in many charitable ways.

The Sound Shore St. Patrick's Day Parade is a celebration of Irish American heritage and the American immigrant experience for the entire Sound Shore community, from Port Chester to The Pelhams. The parade scholarship fund has bestowed over $55,000 in scholarships to deserving Sound Shore students.
