2020 Scholarship Recipients
Congratulations to our 2020 Scholarship Recipients, Ciara McIvor and Aiden Bennett. Both Ciara and Aidan have stellar academic records and fill their free time with academic clubs, sports, and community service.
Ciara McIvor
Ciara is a senior at New Rochelle High School. She's held the position of president of the NRHS Irish Club. In addition she helps fundraise for the Armagh Society which helps spread information about Irish Culture. Ciara spent many years as an Irish Step Dancer with the Woods School as well. Ciara has been accepted at Virginia Tech for the fall but is also waitlisted at a few other schools so her decision is still TBD.
Aidan Bennett
Aidan is a senior at Pelham High School. He helped start the Irish Club at PHS during his freshman year and has been active in it for 4 years. In addition, he's been playing Gaelic Football since he's a youngster for St. Barnabas and has also been a member of the Pelham HS Gaelic League Taoiseach. He gives lectures and presentations ranging from Irish history/culutre to folklore to sport. Aidan will be attending Providence College in the fall where he hopes to be an active member of the Gaelic Society on campus.
